Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is committed to the health and safety of our staff and passengers.

In addition to our pre-existing safety guidelines, we have implemented a number of measures on board and at piers to mitigate the risk of coronavirus transmission. The following Covid-related guidelines will remain in place after the relaxation of most Coronavirus legislation in England, which is scheduled to take place on 19 July 2021.

These measures are in line with the rest of the Transport for London (TfL) network. You can read more here.

Travel requirements for passengers:

  • Face Covering 24X24

Continue wearing face coverings at all times

For the safety of our staff and fellow customers, you should continue wearing face coverings aboard our services and at piers, unless exempt.

Adjust face coverings to eat or drink items from the onboard café bar.

  • Distance Fill

    Give each other space

Please be considerate to others and give each other space if you can.

  • Hand Wash

    Use the hand sanitiser provided

Lifebuoy hand sanitiser stations are located near the entrance to every vessel's cabin. Please use the hand sanitiser to quickly disinfect your hands and remember to wash your hands regularly.

NHS posters are on display that explain the correct hand-washing procedure.

  • Payment Contactless

    Use cashless forms of payment

We are not accepting cash payments at piers or at café bars. We recommend you use In-Seat Ordering to order refreshments and enjoy minimal contact bar service but you can still order at the bar and pay with a card or payment device if you would prefer.

Find out more about how to pay for your travel here.

We have been awarded Good to Go status by VisitEngland, the AA has accredited us as COVID-19 Confident, and The World Travel & Tourism Council have granted us the SafeTravels stamp. These accolades demonstrate that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring safety procedures and cleanliness are in place as well as Covid-19 risk assessment measures.

Coronavirus procedures on board and at piers

  • Passengers are able to board our vessel with our usual “touch-free” experience.
  • Customers should be considerate to others and give each other space if they can.
  • Safe procedures are in place to allow fresh air to pass through vessels' cabins and passengers have the option to sit on the open back deck.
  • Touch points and surfaces on board are regularly wiped down with cleaning wipes during service, and every vessel is deep-cleaned overnight.
  • In addition to the daily touchpoint cleaning, the vessels are disinfected using an electrostatic spray during out of service periods during the day (when no passengers or crew are present) as well as nightly. The cabin doors are opened during this time to allow good ventilation.
  • Regular cleaning takes place throughout the day at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers' ticket offices using disinfectant spray.
  • There are no hazardous ingredients in the sprays used so the cabin is safe to enter immediately after use.
