In 2019, Sean Collins our co-founder and CEO made waves at the Everywoman in Travel Awards! Sean received the Male Agent of Change Award. The award celebrates men who have shown an active commitment to advancing the progress of women working in travel, exemplified perfectly by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers being one of the most gender-diverse workforces operating on the Thames, and indeed the global marine industry.

This award is open to ferry operators that run services from ports located in the UK and Ireland. Uber Boat by Thames Clippers scooped first place as a result of the tangible results achieved in improving our service and customer experience. This award came in the same year we celebrated our twentieth year of operation, and was the perfect birthday treat! We have previously won the Ferry Operator of the Year accolade in 2016 and 2017.

In 2018, the Frontline Employee of the Year Award was won by Ellie Wooldridge, Master at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers. Ellie was recognised for her real commitment to the River Bus service and she has been instrumental in allowing the business to grow. Ellie's willingness to go beyond her day job to teach, coach and mentor new staff has ensured a pool of well-trained staff ready to rise through the ranks.

Nominated by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, James Berry, 21, is the youngest captain in Uber Boat by Thames Clippers. James commands a vessel which carries up to 62 passengers. With a wise head on young shoulders James is currently a Class 5 Master. James won the accolade for his work ethic, initiative and a commitment to the industry.
