Tower Pier is a popular pier for visitors and commuters. Located beside the Tower of London one of the best views of London's iconic Tower Bridge, is from Tower Pier. A great option for passengers using a wheelchair or pram, Tower Pier has step-free access from Tower Hill.

Tickets can be bought at ticket machines at the pier before travel, but to save time and money touch in and out with your Oyster or contactless card. You can also buy your tickets online or use the Uber app or the Thames Clippers Tickets app.

Continuing your journey from Tower Pier

  • Subway

    Tower Hill on London Underground's District and Circle lines is the nearest tube station to Tower Pier and is a five-minute walk around the Tower of London.

    Tower Gateway on the DLR is slightly further away (7-minute walk) and National Rail services can be caught from London Fenchurch Street Station, which is on the C2C network, and also just under 10 minutes' walk from the pier.

  • Bike

    Santander Cycles can be hired from the docking stations on Great Tower Street or Tower Gardens.

    CS3 on the Cycle Superhighways network passes near to the pier.

  • Car Pickup

    Buses, Ubers and black cabs regularly serve this area.

  • Parking Fill

    If you have travelled into the city by car, you can use the nearby Tower Hill Car Park to access the pier. However, please note before travelling that the pier is within the congestion charge zone.

Are Tower Pier and Tower Millennium Pier the same pier?

Tower Pier and Tower Millennium Pier are the same pier. Some people just remove the word “Millennium” as it can be a bit of a mouthful. If you’re visiting London and are worried about reaching the right place, don’t worry! Everyone will know which pier you mean, no matter which version you choose.

What is Tower Millennium Piers nearest tube station?

The nearest tube station is Tower Hill Station, which can be reached via a short walk (usually around 7 minutes). However, the pier is also well located for onward travel on local rail services (from Fenchurch Street) and DLR services (from Tower Gateway).

What is the postcode for Tower Millennium Bridge?

The best postcode to use is EC3N 4DT. However, please be aware that the pier is a short walk from the road so please allow time to walk if you are bringing bags with you!

Can I use my Oyster Card at Tower Millennium Pier?
